About Robo Mow
Robo Mow is the concept of a horticulturist and landscaper with 21+ years experience in the industry.
Whilst running an out of school activity session on the school field where my two girls attend, I was shocked by the poor quality of the playing field; inches deep in grass clippings made games near impossible, litter and uniform cut up in tiny pieces where
large gang mowers have failed to stop and made the grounds look untidy and unloved.

The poor quality of workmanship has arisen through many years of small budget increases or even cuts, making the cheapest quote the only choice. To the contractor, whose prices are only increasing, this means one thing - get in and get out as quickly as possible by the cheapest method; missing grass cuts, cutting long grass far too short; creating a lot of clippings and a lot of mess and cutting the grass when it’s too wet.

With Robo Mow, the robotic lawn mower will get the playing field down to the required length within the first few weeks by taking millimetres off each day, then maintaining that height. The micro cuttings rot down and release nutrients back into the ground that strengthen the grass root system. With the mowers being so light, soil compaction is greatly reduced, allowing the rain to absorb and not puddle.

Upon a successful site visit a GPS reference point will be fitted in a clear elevated position. This piece of kit will talk to the mower at all times, so the robot will know where it is within the grounds.
The robotic mower will need a home! This comes in the form of a charging station; when the robot isn’t mowing it is charging and resting. All that is required is a single plug socket.

There are many positives to having a robotic mower cutting your school grounds; the main one that I believe will benefit the children, will be that they will not be disturbed within the classroom by noisy cutting equipment going back and
forth for a prolonged time. The Robotic mower will be programmed so that the grass will be cut outside
school hours and around after-school activities.

There are security features on the mowers. The robots will be immobilised mechanically if picked up in
any way and an alarm will sound. This will alert the contractor and an engineer will visit to reset.
If for some reason the robot leaves the working area, a tracker will be activated.
